The Festival de Cannes is reserved to film industry professionals. Every participant must be granted accreditation to take part in the Festival. Professional accreditations are granted by professional category.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRIBUTION

Since 2021, registration for the Cannes Film Festival has been subject to an environmental contribution of €20 (excl. VAT) per participant. Indeed emissions attributable to travel to Cannes and accommodation for accredited guests account for over 80% of the event’s carbon footprint each year (excluding the 2021 edition). All proceeds are donated to carbon reduction and sequestration programs.

This offsetting measure is part of the Festival de Cannes’ environmental policy.

WHO CAN ASK FOR AN ACCREDITATION?

The Festival de Cannes is exclusively reserved to film industry professionals.
It is not necessary to register with the Festival if you make your request through the Marché du Film, as the Market badge includes all Festival participation rights and access to screenings.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF OUR ACCREDITATION PROCESS?

Festival accreditation is required to gain access to the Palais des Festivals and the Marché du Film. This accreditation gives you access to the screenings according to the conditions set out on your online account, once your request has been validated.

HOW TO REGISTER?

Through your personal account, you will be able to register online, attach the requested documents justifying your experience in your professional field, and follow the evolution of your accreditation request.

Cinéphilesaccreditation

The Festival de Cannes is also open to film enthusiasts and educational groups, within the limits of availability through the “Cannes Cinéphiles” programme. “Cannes Cinéphiles” accreditations give access to the films of the Official Selection, Semaine de la Critique and Quinzaine des Cinéastes in some Cannes’ theatres.

HOW TO PROCEED?

Please visit our accreditation portal online in order to submit your “Cannes Cinéphiles” accreditation’ request, attach the required documents listed below, and follow-up on your request’ status:

  • School groups:
    NB: please, contact Cannes Cinéphiles beforehand

For each student: a certificate of school attendance for the ongoing year.
For the administration: an official document justifying your position and a motivation letter explaining your school project related to the “Cannes Cinéphiles” program.
For all: ID card / passport (both sides)

  • Film students:
    a motivation letter
    an official document mentioning your studies for this year
    a photocopy of identity card / passport (both sides).
  • Cultural or Film club associations:
    NB: associations are responsible for applications for their members.a motivation letter

Three Days in Cannesaccreditation

The Festival de Cannes offers film buffs aged 18 to 28 the opportunity to take part in the event and to discover the films in the Official Selection as part of the “3 Days in Cannes” programme.

In 2024, 3 sessions of 3 days are open to participants:

  • Session 1: from Wednesday 15 May to Friday 17 May
  • Session 2: from Monday 20 May to Wednesday 22 May
  • Session 3: from Thursday 23 May to Saturday 25 May

WHAT DO I GET WITH "3 DAYS IN CANNES" ACCREDITATION?

Accreditation for “3 Days in Cannes” gives you access to the Cinéum, for all films in the Official Selection (Competition, Out of Competition, Special Screenings, Un Certain Regard). Located in the La Bocca district, the Cinéum is the city of Cannes’ brand-new multiplex cinema, and is served by a free shuttle service that runs from the town centre. The Cinéum’s three biggest screening rooms (seating 500, 400 and 270) are primarily geared towards non-professionals, and offer an opportunity to watch films in the very best possible conditions.

Accreditation also gives visitors access to screenings at the Palais des Festivals (and the Grand Théâtre Lumière for some screenings) on a first-come-first-served basis, with industry professionals given priority.

On the last Thursday and Friday of the Festival, a programme exclusively dedicated to “3 Days in Cannes” runs at the Les Arcades cinema.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR ACCREDITATION?

To apply for accreditation for “3 Days in Cannes”, you must:
•    be aged between 18 and 28
•    be passionate about film

NEXT STEPS

Applications must be submitted online via the accreditation portal (no applications will be processed by telephone) from February 1 to March 15, 2024.

Documents to be provided with the application form:

•    ID document (both sides) or passport;
•    ID photo;
•    A letter of motivation (if you already took part in the Program, please provide a letter different from the previous year telling us about your experience) ;
•    A letter of your professional project in a few words (production, international sales, distribution etc.) – Optional.

Once the accreditation request has been accepted, you will be sent an email (no answer will be given by phone).

Named badges with a photo ID and the programme of dedicated sessions can be collected from the Accreditation Office of the Palais des Festivals.
